Good Omens

Pratchett, Terry

  • Publisher: Victor Gollancz Ltd
  • Published: 1990 , London
  • Condition: Near Fine
First edition, first impression: London: Victor Gollancz Ltd, 1990. Signed and inscribed by Terry Pratchett to the title page: 'To Rhys, We made the devil do it. Terry Pratchett'. The true first edition, published in May 1990. Octavo. Original red cloth, spine lettered in black. With the original pictorial dust jacket illustrated by Chris Moore, priced £12.95 to the front flap. The binding is square and firm, the cloth clean and bright with only the slightest hint of bowing to the lower board. The text block is lightly and evenly toned, as often encountered; internally fresh and near fine otherwise. The complete and unclipped dust jacket is notably well-preserved, retaining strong colour and gloss; very light traces of creasing in places, else near fine. A cornerstone of modern comic fantasy, Good Omens represents the celebrated collaboration between Pratchett and Gaiman and has since achieved classic status, further amplified by its successful screen adaptation. Inscribed copies of the first edition-particularly with such a personal inscription-are both desirable and rare.
